There is hereby established the “Council Grove Municipal Airport” hereafter described as “airport.” The location of the airport is on a tract of land located at the Council Grove Lake in Morris County, Kansas.

The governing body may lease the airport and land constituting the same. The lease contract or contracts shall specify the consideration or compensation to be paid the city and the times of payment. However, the land may be leased separately or the crops sold as determined by the council.

The lessee or manager of the airport, with the approval of the governing body, or by lease agreement provided, shall prepare and post suitable rules and regulations for the public use of the airport. The rules shall provide for the location, use or hire of facilities on the airport, the charges for service made available for commodities sold. The rules shall adopt and include applicable rules and regulations of the federal aviation authorities. When leased, the manager or lessee of the airport shall be primarily charged with the enforcement of all such rules and regulations and shall report violations thereof to the mayor and the federal authorities as the case may be.

Traffic regulations of the city shall be enforced at the airport except where otherwise posted.
