Article 1. Fire Limits
The following are hereby declared to be the fire limits of Council Grove, Kansas:
Lots D, E, F, G and J, in Woods Addition to Council Grove, Kansas; Blocks 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and the North Half of Blocks 19 and 38, in the original town of Council Grove, Kansas; Lots 1 and 18 in Towlers Subdivision of Lot B of Council Grove, Kansas; all of amended plat of Block 94, Council Grove, Kansas; all of Fredenburg replat in the City of Council Grove, Kansas, north of Missouri Pacific Railroad; Blocks A, B, C, D, E and F in Mosier’s Second Addition of Council Grove, Kansas; Lots 1 through 19 in Block 23; all of Block 26 in Barth’s Addition, Council Grove, Kansas; Block 4 in the Missouri-Kansas & Texas Railroad right-of-way, west of Spencer Street in Council Grove, Kansas; Block 30 in the East Side Addition to Council Grove, Kansas; and Blocks 22, 27, 38 and 43, in Mosier’s First Addition to Council Grove, Kansas.

Every building hereafter erected, enlarged or altered in any manner within the fire limits as defined in section 7-101 shall conform to the standards set out in Chapter 4, Article 1 of this code.

Temporary frame buildings used by builders may be built within the fire limits provided, however, that such buildings shall not be located within 20 feet of any other building and that said building is to be removed upon the completion of the building project.

No frame building shall be moved without to within the fire limits. For the purpose of this article a building shall be classified as frame when the exterior walls or portions thereof are of wood; also a building with wooden frame work veneered with brick, stone, tile or concrete or covered with plastered stucco or sheet metal, shall be classified as a frame building.

Any frame building within the fire limits which may hereafter be damaged by fire, decayed or otherwise damaged in an amount greater than 50 percent, exclusive of its foundation, shall not be repaired or rebuilt, but shall be removed within 60 days.
