(a) The City of Council Grove, in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 12-16,102, as amended, does hereby establish an Employee Benefits Contribution Fund for the purpose of paying the employer’s share of employee benefits for Council Grove Public Library employees prescribed by subsection (b).
(b) The costs of the employee benefits authorized for payment from the fund created by subsection (a) shall include the following: Employer contributions for social security, worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, healthcare costs, employee benefit plans, and employer retirement and pension programs.

The city will provide and pay for a health, accident and life insurance plan as may be selected by the governing body for all fulltime employees. The city will pay the premium or premiums on the insurance in addition to other compensation. The additional cost of family coverage shall be paid by the employee and will be deducted from the employees’ wages.

The city hereby extends the benefits of Title II of the Federal Social Security Act, in conformity with the applicable provisions of the act, to the employees of the city, in accordance with and under terms of the plan agreed to with the state agency.

The city is a member of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System.
(a) All city employees who work 1,000 hours or more per year are required to enroll in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System.
(b) All covered employees shall have four percent of their gross monthly earnings deducted from their paycheck as the employee contribution to the retirement system.
(c) Employees shall give at least three months notice prior to their retirement.
